THE THIRLMERE FLYER The Thirlmere Flyer will
return in March 2009 as part of a new format for the annual Thirlmere
Festival of Steam - back bigger and better in 2009 -
A great family steam train day trip - out of the city to the Thirlmere Craft Markets and Thirlmere Rail Heritage Centre - in the attractive Southern Highlands foothills. Thirlmere is the centre of NSW rail heritage - see the NSW rail story at Australia's largest railway museum, the Thirlmere Rail Heritage Centre. Theres plenty to see and do, its an ideal and economical day out for families and groups. Experience a living museum - take a ride on the Thirlmere Heritage Railway steam trains and heritage Rail Motors which connect with the Thirlmere Flyer. The Thirlmere Flyer is normally powered by vintage steam loco 3526. Visiting guest steam locomotives are also used on the Thirlmere Flyer on occasions check back here for updates.
